ABE: COMMITTED TO ECONOMY

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has apologized in the Diet for the resignation of a key economic Cabinet minister last Thursday. He went on to say he will focus on the economy to fulfill his responsibility to the people.
On Tuesday, lawmakers discussed the former economic revitalization minister, Akira Amari. He stepped down amid scandal, saying his secretaries had mishandled political donations.

"I express deep regret to the people over the resignation of one of the Cabinet ministers I appointed. Economic revitalization will continue to be a top priority for my Cabinet. I am resolved to fulfill my responsibility by pushing Abenomics forward and getting the economy out of deflation."

Abe said the new minister, Nobuteru Ishihara, is the right person for the job, because he has held several ministerial posts as well as executive positions in the ruling party.

首相 閣僚辞任で謝罪

安倍晋三総理大臣は、要職にあった経済閣僚が先週木曜日（１月２８日）に辞任したことを国会で謝罪し、国民に対する責任を果たすため、今後とも経済政策に重点を置く考えを示しました。
火曜日（２月２日）、甘利明前経済再生担当大臣（の辞任）について国会で質疑が行われました。甘利氏は不祥事疑惑のさなかに、秘書が政治献金を不正に処理したことを認めて辞任しました。
安倍総理大臣は、「私の任命した閣僚の１人が辞任したことについて、国民に対して大変申し訳なく感じています。経済の再生は、引き続き安倍内閣の最重要課題です。アベノミクスを前進させ、経済をデフレから脱却させることにより、国民への責任を果たしていく決意です」と語りました。
安倍総理大臣はまた、後任の石原伸晃大臣は自民党の要職を歴任するとともに閣僚経験も何度もあり、経済再生担当大臣にふさわしい人物だと語りました。
