U.S. FILES NEW MOTION AGAINST APPLE

U.S. government officials are ratcheting up the rhetoric in their fight with Apple. They say the firm's refusal to unlock the iPhone of a suspected killer is a marketing ploy.
Justice Department officials filed a motion seeking to force Apple to comply with a court order. They need the firm's help to access the phone of one of two suspects in last year's San Bernardino shootings. Executives at the tech giant had earlier refused the order to disable the phone's passcode protections.
Justice Department officials say Apple is mainly concerned about its business model and marketing strategy. Analysts say the firm is trying to protect its image by showing that it values privacy.
