UN TO JAPAN: BAN DATING SERVICES

A UN human rights official is urging Japan to ban businesses that offer dates with school girls. The official says they could lead to the sexual exploitation of children.
Maud de Boer-Buquicchio is a UN special rapporteur. She visited Japan in October and has just issued a report. It refers to so-called "JK business" that offers customers dates with young girls. The dates can range from walks to lying down together. JK is an abbreviation of "joshi kosei," Japanese for high school girls.
Boer-Buquicchio said participating in "JK business" is "not infrequent" among some Japanese girls, including junior high school students. She said they consider it a part-time job, but she warned that the girls often find themselves coerced into providing sexual services.

国連 ＪＫビジネス禁止を勧告

国連の人権問題担当者が、女子高生とのデートを売り物にするビジネスについて、子供たちの性的搾取につながりかねないとして禁止するよう日本に勧告しました。
国連のマオド・ド・ブーアブキッキオ特別報告者は去年１０月に日本を訪れ、このほど報告書をまとめました。報告書では、顧客に女子高生との散歩や添い寝などのデートを提供する、いわゆる「ＪＫビジネス」について言及しています。ＪＫは、日本語の「女子高生」の短縮形です。ブーアブキッキオ特別報告者は、中学生を含めた日本の一部の少女にとって、ＪＫビジネスに関わることは「まれなことではない」としています。ブーアブキッキオ特別報告者は、少女たちはＪＫビジネスをアルバイトだと考えているものの、しばしば性的サービスを強要されることになると警告し、「子供たちを性的な商品として扱うことを強く懸念し続けています」と話しています。
日本政府は、この報告書は日本の女子中高生の多くがＪＫビジネスに関与しているという誤った印象を植え付けると反論しています。
