MINISTRY CITES RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE

North Korea says it is acting in self-defense as it orders its military to enter what it calls pre-emptive attack mode.
State-run media reported a statement from the Foreign Ministry ahead of annual U.S.-South Korea joint military drills, scheduled to start on Monday. The U.S. and South Korea have conducted the exercises at this time of the year on an annual basis. North Korea regularly denounces them. This year, the drills are expected to be bigger than ever in response to the North's recent nuclear test and rocket launch.

米韓軍事演習 北朝鮮がけん制

北朝鮮は軍を「先制攻撃態勢」と呼ぶ状態に入れたとし、これは自衛のための行動だと発表しました。これは北朝鮮の国営メディアが、月曜日（３月７日）に始まる予定の毎年恒例の米韓合同軍事演習を前にした外務省の談話として伝えたものです。アメリカと韓国は毎年この時期に（軍事）演習を行っており、北朝鮮は一貫して非難しています。今年の演習は、北朝鮮が最近行った核実験や（事実上の長距離弾道ミサイルと考えられている）ロケット発射を受けて、過去最大規模になると見られています。
