My home town is in Tomioka City in Gunma prefecture,Japan. It is surrounded by the range of mountains and famous for the oldest Silk factory built by the government in 1873, Nukisaki-Shrine established in 535, housing more than 400 religious treasures, Gunma Safari Park and so on.
In ancient times this area was one of the homegrounds of culture and history. You will find several buddhist temples and Shinto-shrines here and there.
You can enjoy the scenic beauty of nature throughout the year.
The former Tomioka Silk Factory, in 2007, was added in the provisional list of World Heritage candidates in Japan. It will not be long before it is chosen one of the World Heritage.
