THE HILL OF MIKANS (By Sadao Mazuka)

mikan The mikans on the hill are in full blossom
This hill is our favorite place for my mother and me
I can see the blue ocean beyond the path of the hill
And I can see some ships vaguely from over the hill

I wonder why the ships are going so far away
The ships seem so hurried blowing black heavy smoke
Weaving and rolling the ships going behind the islands
Then I could hear a ship blows its horn suddenly

This is where my mother and me had always been
And we looked out over the ocean and islands
Today I also look out from this hill alone
Then I remember my mother sincerely loved me

(Mikan: Japanese orange, mandarin orange or tangerine)
